Takich newsów chcemy słyszeć jak najwięcej! Pochodząca z Polski Anna Alboth właśnie została nominowana do Pokojowej Nagrody Nobla. W akcji, którą zorganizowała udział wzięło 3,5 tys. osób! „Nie jesteśmy bezsilni”, tak reklamowała wydarzenie.

Z Berlina do Aleppo

Anna Alboth jest inicjatorką Civil March For Aleppo. Maszerujący przeszli przez m.in. Niemcy, Czechy, Słowenię, Chorwację, Macedonię, Grecję i Turcję.

We are absolutely touched to receive a Nobel Peace Prize nomination. This nomination is truly for everyone who was a part of the Civil March for Aleppo! That means around 3500 marchers from 62 countries, people of diverse cultures, people with disabilities, people from different religions. It is for all the online supporters, all the amazing people in Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Bulgaria and Lebanon, who gave us places to sleep and food to eat, in schools, churches, mosques and community buildings, who helped us organise events, logistics and so much more. Our march was not organised by full-time professional activists with a lot of resources, but by ordinary people who donated their time, energy and money to the cause. The Civil March for Aleppo (CMFA) was a one-time action, that lasted around 9-months and proved that the power of grassroots civic activism and the value of an action with a low threshold of participation can make a real difference. At the Civil March, people were invited to walk with us or participate in any way that they could even if just for a few hours or a day, this made it possible for anyone to take part and show their solidarity. Despite what some media outlets or politicians may try to say: the war in Syria is not over. Despite the fact that a few development organisations and a few governments have offered help and funds for the reconstruction of infrastructure, the war is not over. Thousands of people cannot come back to their homes and remain displaced within Syria and outside its borders. On a continuing basis, every day, TODAY people hide from shelling and bombardment, are injured, starve and die. Even if one day the shelling stops, as long as civilians are not safe, the war is still ongoing - that includes protection for those who disagree with whoever is in power. It is so important to talk about people, their safety and freedom, because the longer we hold up the veil of silence, the longer we maintain the persecution and violence. To all of you, civilians around the world, who are doing or trying to do something for the other civilians: this recognition goes to you too!
